Store Data Files - Selection Help
This page allows you to restore a previously saved backup file to your store. NOTE: the contents of the backup file will replace its corresponding files/pages in the store. Therefore, be sure you have selected the correct backup file! There is no way to "undo" or stop this action once it has begun. BACKUP
FILE TO RESTORE - When BROWSE BUTTON is Displayed All backup files must start with "Qstore_backup" and end with ".tar". CAUTION - make sure you are restoring a valid backup file and it's for the correct date! There is no way to "undo" or stop this action once it has begun. Once the file has been selected, press the RESTORE DATA button to upload the file from your computer to the store. Depending on the size of the backup, this process may take a few minutes. Therefore, please be patient and allow this process to finish. Only press the RESTORE DATA button one time! Once this file has been uploaded, the store will open, read, and process the file all in one easy step. IMPORTANT TIP: if your store contains a large amount of image files, the backup file may be too large for a "browser based" upload and restore. If this happens, the browser software will "time-out" prior to the upload being completed which means the restore will fail. If you have a slow internet connection and/or a large backup file to restore, then you will need to go back to the store's administration security option on the Main Menu and change the "Upload Control" field for your user ID record. This setting needs to be changed to use the "Manual FTP Upload" option. Once that is done, return to the restore backup file option on the main menu and follow the restore notes shown below. BACKUP
FILE TO RESTORE - When
BROWSE BUTTON is *NOT* Displayed All backup files must start with "Qstore_backup" and end with ".tar". CAUTION - make sure you are restoring a valid backup file and it's for the correct date! There is no way to "undo" or stop this action once it has begun. Once the backup file has been uploaded to the store into the Qstore/Qbackup directory, enter the name of that backup file into this field. This file name is case sensitive and must NOT include a path or directory name. Next, press the RESTORE DATA button to begin the restoration process. Depending on the size of the backup, this process may take a few minutes. Therefore, please be patient and allow this process to finish. Only press the RESTORE DATA button one time! The store will then open, read, and process the backup file from the Qstore/Qbackup directory of your store. A message will display informing you when the store has completed the process. |
