Real Time Credit Card Processing Help

In order to activate real time credit card processing, you must first have an Internet "merchant account" with one of our supported processing companies (see below). Merchant accounts are required in order for your company or organization to accept credit cards from customers.

Once you have an Internet merchant account, you will also need an Internet "gateway" account that links the merchant account to your online store. Normally, these are both acquired from the same processing company. Both pieces are necessary in order to accept credit cards on the web and have the store process them automatically.

When everything is setup correctly, the store will be able to take customer credit card orders, send them to your merchant account through the gateway, and record the results in your store's database!

NOTE: if you already have a merchant account for retail sales, you will most likely NOT be able to use it for Internet transactions. Most banks require a special Internet Merchant Account, with special rules and rates, and will NOT let you use your retail merchant account for Internet transactions. Please check with your current merchant account provider.

To activate real time processing for your store, you need to click the YES option below, select your processing company, and then click the CONTINUE button. You will then be asked a series of questions about your merchant account and gateway.

IMPORTANT: you will also need to configure your gateway processing account to accept transactions from your store. You should print out the configuration screens as you proceed through this setup. Valuable store information will be displayed which you will need to configure your gateway account with the processing company.
