E-Mail List Menu Help

The store allows you to collect customer e-mail addresses for marketing purposes. This menu allows you to activate this feature, control how it works, add/update customer email addresses, and send email to your list.

To begin, click the first item listed on the menu, then activate this feature and complete the control fields. NOTE: until this feature is activated, the fields on the "Email List Setup and Control" page will not be functional.

IMPORTANT: When you have completed the first menu item, you will need to add a special marker called {{EMAIL_LIST}} to one of your skin pages or store display fields in order for the email address input box to show to the customer.

To do so, simply cut and paste the marker

{{EMAIL_LIST}}

and place it into your store's welcome page text, company information field, or elsewhere in your store. It may also be manually added to one of the skin pages if you like.

REMEMBER: the input box that allows a visitor to join your mailing list will not appear in your store until you activate this feature *and* add this marker (including the braces before and after) somewhere in your store.

TIP: if you would like to modify the look, colors, size, or content of the input box, please edit the following text file in your store:

Qstore/Qfiles/email_list_input_box.htm

This file is NOT a complete HTML web page. Instead, it is a text file that contains the HTML that is inserted into one or more of the store's web pages to create the input box. This file can be modified as long as you do not remove or disable the markers that are expected in this file.
